How BedGuide makes money
Last updated 2026-10-21.
BedGuide makes money in three ways. Bed companies can pay for labelled partner placements. Some links to retailers may earn a commission, and those links are marked “Ad”. Verified bed companies can sell in the BedGuide shop, and we take a fee on each sale. Payment never changes our guides, the A–Z directory order or our checks.
What earns money today?
This list reads our own records. It updates itself each time we publish the site.
- No paid placements are showing yet.
- No affiliate programmes are live yet. Links to company websites currently earn nothing.
- The shop has no live products yet, so BedGuide earns no shop fees today.
What are the three ways BedGuide earns money?
| Income | Who pays | What you will see |
|---|---|---|
| Partner placements | A bed company pays BedGuide a monthly or yearly plan. | A slot marked “Featured partner · paid placement”. |
| Affiliate links | A retailer pays BedGuide a commission after a sale. | A link marked “Ad · affiliate link”. |
| Shop fee | The seller pays BedGuide a fee out of each sale. | Product pages that name the seller and say BedGuide earns a fee. |
You never pay BedGuide directly as a shopper. All three streams are paid by businesses.
How do paid partner placements work?
A partner placement is a paid advert slot. A verified bed company pays for a plan. In return, it gets a labelled slot above the A–Z list on its town, region or range pages. The A–Z list below stays the same.
- Featured: £49 a month or £490 a year. Labelled placement where shoppers compare local and specialist sellers.
- Premium: £129 a month or £1,290 a year. Our widest labelled placement and a lower shop fee.
We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added. Partners pay through Stripe, a payment company. The seller of these plans is Elite Digital AI Solutions Ltd. The full rules are in the partner plan terms. Businesses can read more on the partners page.
How do affiliate links work?
An affiliate link is a tracked link to a retailer’s website. If you buy after clicking it, the retailer may pay BedGuide a small share of the sale. That share is called a commission. You do not pay extra.
Every affiliate link on BedGuide is labelled “Ad · affiliate link”. We only use the label when a programme is really live. A link marked “Official website · no commission” earns nothing. The affiliate disclosure lists which programmes are live.
How does the BedGuide shop work?
The shop lets verified UK bed companies sell their own products on BedGuide. Sold and delivered by the bed company named on each product. You pay that company through Stripe, and BedGuide earns a fee on each sale.
- The bed company is the seller of record. That means it is the business that legally sells to you. It delivers, and it handles cancellations, returns, refunds and faults.
- You pay the seller through Stripe Connect. Stripe Connect lets each bed company take payments into its own Stripe account. Your money goes to the seller, not to BedGuide.
- BedGuide’s fee is 15% of the first £175 of each order and 10% of the rest, or 12% of the first £175 of each order and 8% of the rest for Premium partners. Stripe takes the fee from the seller’s payment automatically. This is called an application fee.
- BedGuide never holds your money. We do not store your address or card details. Stripe holds them, and the seller gets your delivery details to send your order.
Shoppers can read the marketplace terms and the delivery and returns guide. Bed companies can read the seller terms and apply to sell. Browse products in the BedGuide shop.
What can payment never buy?
These rules apply to every partner, retailer and seller. They have no exceptions.
- Payment never changes what our guides say.
- Payment never changes the A–Z order of the directory.
- Payment never buys a verification check, a badge we have not earned or the removal of a fact.
- Every paid placement and commission link is labelled where you see it.
What will BedGuide never do?
- We will never sell rankings or a “best bed” spot.
- We will never publish fake reviews or fake star ratings.
- We will never hide a fee, a commission or a paid placement.
- We will never let a paying company read or approve a guide before it publishes.
- We will never give medical advice, paid or unpaid.
- We will never promise a company traffic, sales or mentions in AI answers.
How is the directory ordered?
The UK bed directory lists verified companies in A–Z order. A company gets a free profile only after it passes our Companies House and website checks. Paying does not move it up or down the A–Z list.
Paid featured slots sit above the list, in their own labelled box. The note you will see says: “Featured partners pay for this labelled space. It is separate from the A–Z directory, and payment never changes that order.” Our company checks explain how a profile is verified.
How can I tell when something is paid?
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Featured partner · paid placement | The company paid for this slot. |
| Ad · affiliate link | BedGuide may earn a commission if you buy after clicking. |
| Ad | The short form of the two labels above. |
| Official website · no commission | A plain link to the company’s own website. BedGuide earns nothing. |
Pages with commission links also carry this note under the title: “Ad – affiliate links: if you buy through a link marked “Ad”, BedGuide may earn a commission. It never changes what we explain, which companies we list or their A–Z order.”
Who checks that the rules are kept?
The named editor decides what publishes. Money does not change that. Our editorial policy sets the rules for guides. If you think a page breaks these rules, email [email protected]. We log material fixes on the corrections page.

Common questions about how BedGuide makes money
Does BedGuide get paid when I buy a bed?
Only in two cases. If you buy in the BedGuide shop, the seller pays BedGuide a fee of 15% of the first £175 of each order and 10% of the rest (12% of the first £175 of each order and 8% of the rest for Premium partners). If you buy after clicking a link labelled “Ad · affiliate link”, the retailer may pay us a commission. Other links earn nothing.
Do bed companies pay to be in the BedGuide directory?
No. A verified directory profile is free. Companies appear in A–Z order. A company can pay for a separate featured slot, but that slot is always labelled as paid and sits apart from the A–Z list.
Does buying through BedGuide cost me more?
You do not pay BedGuide anything. In the shop, the seller sets the price and our fee comes out of the seller’s share. For an affiliate link, the retailer pays the commission. Always compare prices if price matters to you.
Can a company pay for a better review on BedGuide?
No. We do not publish reviews, star ratings or rankings, paid or unpaid. Payment never changes what our guides say, the A–Z order, or our verification checks.
