In short

Headboard strut centres are the hole-to-hole gap at the head of a divan base, where headboard struts bolt on. Many trade notes put each socket about 15 cm in from the side of the base. That is trade practice, not a British Standard. Measure your own bolt holes, then match the headboard to them.

Definition. Headboard strut centres are the distance between the two bolt holes at the head of a divan where a headboard fixes on.

Struts are the upright bars that hold a headboard. Some headboards include adjustable struts; others need them separately.

Metric mattress widths and imperial furniture widths can differ by a centimetre or two, so measure rather than assume.
