What size mattress do I need?

In short

Pick mattress size from how many people sleep there, how tall they are, and how much floor space you have. A UK Single is 90 × 190 cm for one person. Couples usually need at least a Double (135 × 190 cm). King (150 × 200 cm) or Super King (180 × 200 cm) gives more width. Leave about 10–15 cm of mattress length beyond the tallest person’s height.

More detail

Measure the bedroom. Leave about 50–60 cm to walk beside the bed if you can. Tall people often like King or Super King (200 cm long) more than a Double (190 cm long). Always check centimetres. UK, EU and US size names are not the same.
