Seller terms for UK bed companies

 Last updated 2026-10-21.

These seller terms are the agreement for UK bed companies selling in the
    BedGuide shop. You need a verified directory profile and your own Stripe
    account. You are the seller of record. You deliver, handle returns and
    follow UK consumer and fire-safety law. BedGuide takes 15% of the first £175 of each order and 10% of the rest,
    through Stripe.

  **Please note:** These seller terms are a plain-English
    summary prepared before launch. They are still being reviewed. They are
    not legal advice. Take your own advice if you need it.

## 1. Who is this agreement between?

This agreement is between Elite Digital AI Solutions Ltd (“BedGuide”, “we”) and
      the business selling in the shop (“you”). Elite Digital AI Solutions Ltd is
      registered in England and Wales, company number
17250017, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ.

This is a business-to-business agreement. You accept it when you agree
      to it on the seller application, and again each time you list a
      product.

## 2. Who can sell in the BedGuide shop?

- You must have a verified profile in the [BedGuide directory](/companies/).
- That means an active Companies House record and your own working website.
- You must sell beds, mattresses, bedding or bedroom furniture to UK customers.

Apply on the [sell on BedGuide](/sell-on-bedguide/) page. The
      form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people from bots. Our
      editor reviews every application. We may refuse an application, and we
      will tell you why. Our [company checks](/method/companies/)
explain how a profile is verified.

## 3. Do I need a Stripe account?

Yes. You need a Stripe Connect Standard account. That is your own Stripe
      account, connected to BedGuide. Stripe is the payment company that takes
      the customer’s card payment.

- Your agreement with Stripe is between you and Stripe.
- Stripe charges its own payment fees to you. These are separate from the BedGuide fee.
- Stripe pays the money out to your bank account. BedGuide cannot move your money.

## 4. What are my legal duties as the seller?

You are the seller of record, also called the merchant of record. The
      contract for the goods is between you and the customer. You must follow
      the law that applies to you. This includes:

-
The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional
        Charges) Regulations 2013. You must give the required information
        before the sale, honour the 14-day cancellation right and refund on
        time.

-
The Consumer Rights Act 2015. Goods must be of satisfactory quality,
        fit for purpose and as described.

-
The Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, as
        amended. Upholstered items must meet them and carry the permanent
        labels they require.

-
BS 7177 for mattresses, divans and bed bases. Test to it and keep the
        BS 7177 label on each item. See our
[fire label guide](/care/uk-mattress-fire-regulations/).

-
General product safety law. In Great Britain this is the General
        Product Safety Regulations 2005. Only sell safe products, and act fast
        on any recall.

-
Consumer protection law against misleading claims and fake reviews,
        including the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.

- UK data protection law, for the customer details you receive.

Tell us at once if a product you list is recalled or found unsafe.

## 5. What must a listing include?
 Each listing must be accurate and complete. It must show:

- the product name and what it is made from;
- every size in centimetres, such as King 150 × 200 cm;
- its fire-safety position, such as BS 7177 low hazard for a mattress;
- the price, including VAT if you are VAT registered;
- the delivery charge, delivery time and the areas you cover;
- whether it is a two-person delivery, and any assembly or removal service;
- whether the item is made to order;
- your returns policy, including who pays to return a bulky item and roughly what it costs;
- your legal name, Companies House number and address, which we show to customers.

Do not make medical claims, such as “cures back pain”. Do not add
      reviews, star ratings or claims you cannot prove. Our editor checks each
      listing before it goes live. We may change wording to fit our plain
      English style. We will ask you before we change a fact.

Keep prices, sizes and stock up to date. Tell us promptly when anything
      changes.

## 6. How do orders work?

The customer pays on Stripe Checkout. The payment is made straight to
      your Stripe account. This is called a direct charge. When the payment
      succeeds, we email the order to your order address. The email includes
      the customer’s name, delivery address, phone number and email address.

- Acknowledge each order within 2 working days.
- Reply to customer messages within 2 working days.
- Deliver within the time shown on the listing. If none was shown, deliver within 30 days.
- Tell the customer promptly about any delay.
- If you cannot supply an item, tell the customer and refund in full.

## 7. What is the BedGuide fee?

Our fee is 15% of the first £175 of each order and 10% of the rest. For Premium partners,
      it is 12% of the first £175 of each order and 8% of the rest. This follows the usual UK furniture-marketplace
      structure. The fee applies to the total the customer pays for
      the order, including delivery.

Stripe takes the fee automatically from each payment as an application
      fee. You can see it on each payment in your Stripe dashboard. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our fee.

We will give you 30 days’ notice by email before we change the fee. A
      new fee applies only to orders placed after the change.

## 8. How do refunds and chargebacks work?

- You issue refunds from your own Stripe dashboard.
- You must refund on time, as the law and your returns policy require.
-
If you fully refund an order, we will refund our fee for it. Ask us
        within 30 days of the refund. Email
[editorial@bedguide.co.uk](mailto:editorial@bedguide.co.uk) with the order
        number.

-
Chargebacks are yours to handle. A chargeback is when a customer asks
        their bank to reverse a payment. Answer it in your Stripe dashboard.
        Any Stripe dispute fee is yours.

## 9. Can BedGuide use my product images and text?

Yes, for your listings. You give BedGuide a free, non-exclusive licence
      to copy, resize and show your product images, text, product names and
      logos. We use them to list and describe your products on BedGuide. That
      includes our machine-readable copies, such as feeds and data files.

You confirm you own these materials or have permission to use them. The
      licence ends when the listing is removed. Old copies may take a short
      time to clear from caches.

## 10. Who looks after customer data?

You are the controller of the customer details you receive. A controller
      is the business that decides how personal data is used. You may use the
      details only to fulfil and support the order. That covers delivery,
      returns, faults and your legal duties.

- Do not use them for marketing unless the customer agrees with you separately.
- Keep them secure and delete them when you no longer need them.
- Follow UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

BedGuide is the controller of its own order records. Our
[privacy policy](/privacy/#shop-orders) explains what we keep.

## 11. Does selling change what BedGuide writes?
 No. Selling in the shop buys a place in the shop, nothing more.

- Payment never changes what our guides say.
- Payment never changes the A–Z order of the directory.
- Payment never buys a verification check, a badge we have not earned or the removal of a fact.
- Every paid placement and commission link is labelled where you see it.

Paid featured slots are a separate product. They are covered by the
[partner plan terms](/partner-terms/).

## 12. When can BedGuide pause a listing?
 We can pause or remove a listing at any time if:

- there is a safety concern or a recall;
- the listing is inaccurate;
- customers complain, or you do not answer them;
- your Companies House record or website no longer passes our checks;
- your Stripe account cannot take payments; or
- you break these terms.

 We will tell you by email and explain why.

## 13. How can either side end this agreement?

Either side can end this agreement with 30 days’ notice by email. We can
      end it at once for a serious breach, such as selling unsafe goods or
      fraud. When it ends, we remove your listings. You must still deliver and
      support orders already placed. Our fee on those orders still applies.

## 14. What are the limits of liability?

-
Our total liability to you in any 12 months is capped at the fees we
        received from your orders in those 12 months.

- We are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit or lost business.
- We do not promise any number of visitors, orders or sales.
-
You are responsible for your products and your dealings with customers.
        If a claim is made against us because of your products, or because you
        broke these terms, you will cover our reasonable costs.

-
Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by
        negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law does not let us limit.

## 15. Can these terms change?

We will give you 30 days’ notice by email of any change. If you do not
      agree, you can end the agreement before the change starts.

## 16. Which law applies?

This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of
      England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
