## Why the edge matters

Edge support affects how usable a mattress feels near its sides. This matters when two people share the width, when you tend to sleep close to the side, or when you briefly sit to get into bed.

Sitting concentrates weight over a smaller area than lying down. The same edge can feel different in those two situations. Do not judge sleeping comfort from a short sit alone, and follow any manufacturer limits on edge sitting.
