# Trundle Bed (Truckle)

> A trundle bed, also called a truckle, is a second low bed on castors that rolls out from under a single bed or day bed. It gives you a spare bed that tucks away in the day. Trundle mattresses are thinner than standard ones. Check the floor space with the trundle fully out.

**Definition.** A trundle, or truckle, bed is a second low bed that rolls out from under a single bed or day bed.

Also called: truckle bed, trundle, pull-out guest bed.

Trundles are useful for sleepovers and small guest rooms.

Use the mattress depth the maker gives, or the trundle may not slide back under
the bed.
