> A UK Small Double is 120 × 190 cm, also called a 4ft bed. It is 30 cm wider than a Single and 15 cm narrower than a Double. It suits one adult who wants more room than a Single, or a room too narrow for a Double. Sheets and frames must say Small Double or 120 cm.

**Definition.** A UK Small Double mattress is 120 × 190 cm, also called a 4ft bed. It is 15 cm narrower than a Double.

Also called: 4ft bed, small double bed, three-quarter bed.

Some older shops call it a three-quarter bed. Always check the centimetres.
