# Side-Lift Ottoman

> A side-lift ottoman bed is hinged along one long side, so the mattress platform lifts from the opposite side. You open it standing beside the bed. It suits rooms where the foot of the bed faces a close wardrobe or wall. Check you have access along the opening side and enough overhead clearance.

**Definition.** A side-lift ottoman is hinged along one long side, so the platform lifts up from the other long side.

Also called: side lift ottoman, side opening ottoman.

Check the space along the opening side, including bedside tables and radiators.

Confirm which side opens before you order. Some models can be built to open from
either side.
