# Plush Velvet

> Plush velvet is an even-pile upholstery fabric used on divans, ottomans, and headboards. Compared with crushed velvet it looks smoother and less mottled. Colour names such as cream or charcoal are dyeways within the fabric family. Velvet describes the cover texture, not mattress firmness or base storage type.

**Definition.** Plush velvet is an even-pile upholstery fabric with a soft hand and fairly uniform light reflection. It is widely used on UK divans and headboards.
