# Linking Bolts

> Linking bolts join two half bed bases so they act as one platform. They are common on UK Double, King and Super King divans for stair access. Tighten them until the top is flush. Skipping them can leave a gap or step under the mattress. They do not create dual firmness — that needs zip-and-link mattresses.

**Definition.** Metal bolts or plates that join two half divan or ottoman bases into one level platform under the mattress.
