# Adjustable Bed

> An adjustable bed raises sections under the mattress, usually with electric motors controlled by a handset or remote. The mattress and base must work as a pair, because the mattress has to bend. Check whether two sides move separately, what the weight limit includes, and how much room the moving parts need.

**Definition.** An adjustable bed has a base that raises the head or foot sections, usually with electric motors and a handset.

Also called: electric adjustable bed, adjustable base, motorised bed.

Super King adjustable beds are often two separate halves with a zip-and-link
mattress, so each side can move on its own.
